Map Privacy Settings
YouMap believes in privacy, and we empower our users to choose how they wish to create and share their content. We offer three privacy settings for maps including:
- Public – Everyone can see the map
- Selected People – Only invited people can see the map
- Only Me – Only you can see the map
Additionally, you may choose to let users to post (or not to) on your maps. If you wish to have others post to your map and make it grow be sure to tap the Allow users to post toggle. Similarly, you may wish to keep the posting structure according to the Post Templates you added to your map. To do so, the Quick Posting toggle should be off.
To change your map’s privacy settings:
- Tap the edit map button.
- Select edit map located under the Map settings section.
- Tap the first option to change the map’s privacy settings. You can choose between Public, Selected People, or Only me.
If you select the Selected People option, you will be able to select specific users you wish to share your map with.
Please note you may also allow users to post on your map by tapping the Allow Posting option. If you want users to post only using your specifically created Post templates make sure to disable the quick posting option.
Once you’ve selected your desired privacy options, hit save at the top right corner of the screen to save your new settings.
