Setting a Map Home Location
Some maps are global, while others are about specific areas. For example, ahead of a trip to London, we created a map called 24 Hours in London and set the map home location to the London area. This will help others to see the map’s content by centering the map’s view to London – regardless of the user’s actual location.
To add a home point for the map, tap the Manage button and then tap the last option – Edit map. From there you will be able to set the home view in the Map settings. Zoom in or out on the map to set a home view for your map.
When should you set a map home location?
While there is no one right answer, we believe it is best to set a map home location when the map is about one specific area (for example a city). Alternatively, not setting a home point may benefit you if you are trying to map a global topic such as the Global Street Art Map which aims to map street art around the world.
