YouMap is built for people who want to share and discover places through the lens of what they care about. Here's what makes that possible.
Youmaps
A youmap is a topic-focused map anyone can create. Every youmap has a theme: a neighborhood coffee guide, a city's street art, spots worth visiting before you leave town. You follow the ones that match what you're into.
Post Types
Post types define the content structure of a youmap. Each one sets the fields contributors fill in when adding a post, so every entry on the map stays consistent and useful.
Mapmoji
Every post is pinned to a real-world location and appears on the YouMap world map as a mapmoji bubble. The emoji is set by the post type, so you can tell at a glance what kind of content is at any location.
Discovery and Explore
Discovery on web and Explore on iOS show a live feed of posts from maps you follow and public maps. It's a way to browse what people are adding across YouMap without searching for anything specific.
Find YouMaps
Find YouMaps is a browsable directory of public maps organized by category. Use it to discover new maps worth following and build a feed that reflects your interests.
Privacy and Access Controls
Every youmap has privacy settings. Keep it public so anyone can find and follow it, or set it to private and invite specific people. You can also control who can post and how.
Sharing and Embedding
Maps can be shared via link, sent directly to other YouMap users, or embedded on any website. Embedded maps stay live and update automatically.
